Ottawa Sun: Sens trying to sign Commodore long term
Ottawa GM Bryan Murray is in talks with Mike Commodore's agent on a new contract. The 28-year-old stay-at-home defenseman, whom the Sens acquired from Carolina, is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Commodore will make $1.25 million this season.
"The contract is definitely something I want to get done. I've only been here in Ottawa for a short time, but the dedication the organization has shown me already is great, and I think the city is outstanding. Hopefully we can come to an agreement," Commodore said.
Asked to comment, Murray's response was "We hope to get a deal done with Mike ... we'll see."
