Vokoun to Toronto (e4) ; Sundin

According to sources in Florida, Vokoun may be wearing the Blue and White in the next few days.

This development comes after an apparent rift between Vokoun and Panthers management following the Jokinen trade. Fletcher, aiming to rebuild his mediocre franchise, sees Vokoun as a solution to what has been shaky goaltending over the past few seasons.

Toskala, Fletcher feels, was thrown into the fire as an untested starter under enormous pressure and expectations. If this report is indeed accurate, Toskala may get a fresh start in sunny Florida.

In other news, Cliff Fletcher briefly talked to the press earlier this morning. Responding to a question regarding the status of star Mats Sundin:

"Mats loves it here in Toronto, but realizes the situation our team is, and has been, in. We have been talking, and should an offer comes along that seems right for our franchise, Mats has expressed to me his support in any decision I may make. I, of course, will be keeping his interests, as well as the team's, in mind."

It seems that Fletcher has opened the door to the best offer, regardless of the team who fields it--contrary to earlier reports.
